Summary
Illinois Medicaid Long Term Care facilities must transition to using the state's Application for Benefits Eligibility (ABE) system for all Medicaid LTC eligibility applications starting November 1, 2014. The state is offering mandatory training seminars in September 2014 to help facilities learn the new system.
Action Required
By November 1, 2014: Long Term Care facilities must stop using old application processes and transition to submitting all Illinois Medicaid LTC eligibility applications through the state's ABE system (abe.illinois.gov/abe/access/). Facility staff should attend one of the September training seminars by pre-registering at the HFS Long Term Care Changes ABE Pre-Registration webpage. Failure to use ABE for applications after November 1, 2014 will result in non-compliance with PA 98-0651.
