Summary
Illinois hospitals that exceeded their target readmission rates in SFY 2013 must pay remaining penalties after reconciliation. Hospitals have 30 days to pay the full amount owed or contact the department to arrange a payment plan, or face future claim recoupments.
Action Required
Within 30 days of September 3, 2014: Hospital billing teams must check the HFS website to determine if any PPR reconciliation amount is owed. If payment is due, either remit full payment labeled as 'PPR SFY 2013 reconciliation' to Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services, Bureau of Fiscal Operations, PO Box 19491, Springfield IL 62794-9491, or call 217-785-0710 to arrange payment plan. Failure to pay will result in recoupments against future inpatient claims.
