Summary
Healthcare facilities must convert from ICD-9 to ICD-10 diagnostic codes by October 1, 2015. All current residents must have ICD-10 codes entered between July 1 - September 30, 2015, and all new admissions starting October 1, 2015 must use ICD-10 codes.
Action Required
By September 30, 2015: Facilities must obtain ICD-10 codes from physicians/clinicians for all current residents and enter them via MEDI system between July 1-September 30, 2015. Register for MEDI system if currently using EDI vendors only. Starting October 1, 2015: Use only ICD-10 codes for all new admissions through MEDI or EDI systems.
