Summary
Illinois is implementing a mandatory Managed Long Term Services and Supports (MLTSS) program effective July 1, 2016, for dual-eligible Medicare-Medicaid beneficiaries in nursing facilities and specific HCBS waivers in the Greater Chicago Region. Nursing facilities must contract with MLTSS MCOs or risk having residents moved to in-network facilities.
Action Required
By July 1, 2016: Nursing facilities in Greater Chicago Region (Lake, Kane, DuPage, Cook, Will, and Kankakee counties) must establish contracts with MLTSS MCOs to continue serving dual-eligible residents. Contact MCOs directly to negotiate participation agreements. Facilities that do not contract risk having current residents moved to in-network facilities.
