Summary
Beginning July 1, 2016, dual-eligible beneficiaries in the Greater Chicago Region who opt out of MMAI will be mandatorily enrolled in the MLTSS program for long-term services and supports. HCBS waiver providers must contract with MLTSS MCOs to continue serving these patients, or patients will be transferred to in-network facilities.
Action Required
By July 1, 2016: Long-term care facilities and HCBS waiver providers in Greater Chicago Region must establish contracts with MLTSS MCOs to continue serving dual-eligible patients. Contact MCOs directly to negotiate participation agreements. Facilities that do not contract risk having patients transferred to in-network providers.
