Summary
The Illinois Department of Human Services has updated the Third Party Liability (TPL) Code Directory to help providers identify participant insurance coverage. Providers must replace General Appendix 9 in Chapter 100 of the Handbook for Providers of Medical Services with the updated July 2016 version.
Action Required
Immediately: Billing team must remove the current General Appendix 9 from Chapter 100 of the Handbook for Providers of Medical Services and replace it entirely with the new page HFS General Appendix 9 (1) dated July 2016. Access the updated TPL Code Directory through the link provided in the new appendix to properly identify participant insurance coverage for billing purposes.
