Summary
Health Alliance Connect is ending its participation in Illinois Medicaid managed care after December 31, 2016. Enrollees will be disenrolled in two phases (October 31 and December 31, 2016) and temporarily moved to Medicaid fee-for-service before selecting or being assigned to new health plans (Molina, Meridian, or IlliniCare).
Action Required
Immediately: Billing team must check MEDI system before each service date to determine if Health Alliance Connect patients are in fee-for-service or enrolled in new health plans. For fee-for-service patients, bill HFS directly using their HFS medical card according to fee-for-service guidelines instead of managed care procedures. Update patient insurance verification workflows to account for this transition period through April 2017.
