Summary
Illinois Medicaid is implementing a new Pharmacy Benefit Management System (PBMS) that requires all prescribers to be enrolled through the IMPACT system to prescribe medications for Medicaid participants. A new payor sheet has also been released with updated coordination of benefits requirements.
Action Required
Before March 27, 2017: All prescribers (physicians, dentists, podiatrists, optometrists, advanced practice nurses, and physician assistants) must enroll through the IMPACT system to continue prescribing medications for Illinois Medicaid participants. Contact IMPACT Help Desk at IMPACT.HELP@illinois.gov or 877-782-5565 option #1 for enrollment assistance. Billing team must review the updated payor sheet on the ILLINOIS Rx Portal, paying particular attention to the Coordination of Benefits/Other Payments Segment Questions section. Failure to enroll will prevent prescribing for Medicaid patients.
