Summary
Illinois Medicaid is implementing a new Pharmacy Benefit Management System on March 26, 2017, requiring all pharmacy providers to update their BIN/PCN numbers and payor sheet information. The pharmacy point-of-sale system will be unavailable for 24 hours during the transition, and prior authorization submission methods are changing.
Action Required
By March 26, 2017 at 5:00 PM CDT: Pharmacy billing team must update all systems to use new BIN 017804 and PCN ILPOP for all Illinois Medicaid pharmacy claims. Download updated payor sheet from Department's website and update NCPDP D.0 claim transaction information. Hold all pharmacy claims during system outage March 25-26. Register for new PBMS Provider Portal for prior authorization requests as Web Application and MEDI will no longer be available. Claims using old BIN/PCN will be rejected.
