Summary
Personal Needs Allowance (PNA) for Medicaid-eligible residents in certain long-term care facilities has increased to $60 per month, retroactive to July 1, 2017. Facilities must include specific Provider Type and Category of Service codes in the MEDI system remarks field starting October 1, 2017.
Action Required
By October 1, 2017: Long-term care facilities must include Provider Type (029 or 038) and Category of Service codes (071, 073, 074, or 076) in the 'Remarks' field when submitting admissions electronically through MEDI or other EDI vendors. This applies to ICF/ID, SMHRF, and MCDD facilities only.
