Summary
Illinois introduces new TPL Code 920 for Medicare Advantage Plan (MAP) participants effective November 1, 2017. Providers must use this code when billing Medicaid after MAP adjudication and report MAP payments in specific claim fields.
Action Required
By November 1, 2017: Billing team must update systems to use TPL Code 920 for Medicare Advantage Plan participants when billing Illinois Medicaid. For electronic claims, report in Claim Loop 2330B/REF with 2U qualifier plus 2-digit status code and MAP payment amount in Loop 2320 AMT segment. For UB-04 claims, enter TPL Code 920 in Form Locator 51 with 2-digit status code and MAP payment in FL 54. Claims have 24-month timely filing limit from through date of service.
