Summary
Illinois is launching HealthChoice Illinois on January 1, 2018, replacing several existing Medicaid managed care plans. Four health plans (Aetna Better Health, Community Care Alliance, Family Health Network, and Humana Health Plan) are exiting and must continue paying all outstanding claims even after December 31, 2017.

By December 31, 2017: Billing team must ensure all outstanding claims to exiting plans (Aetna Better Health, Community Care Alliance, Family Health Network, Humana Health Plan, and Cigna-HealthSpring) are submitted and verified. Continue following up on unpaid claims after transition date as exiting plans remain obligated to pay verified claims.
