Summary
Illinois is launching a new Medicaid managed care program called 'HealthChoice Illinois' effective January 1, 2018, with seven selected health plans. All Medicaid providers need to establish contracts with the new health plans to continue serving Medicaid patients.
Action Required
By January 1, 2018: Billing team and providers must establish contracts with HealthChoice Illinois health plans (Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois, CountyCare, Harmony Health Plan, IlliniCare Health Plan, Meridian Health, Molina Healthcare of Illinois, NextLevel Health). Contact health plans immediately if not already contacted to establish network relationships. Update billing systems with new plan information and verify patient eligibility under new program. Failure to contract will result in inability to serve Medicaid patients.
