ALERT: Providers Contracting with HealthChoice Illinios Plans
Illinois Medicaid - HFS·IL·Provider Notice
Effective date
Jan 1, 2018
We identified it
Jun 20, 2026
Summary
Illinois is transitioning to a statewide HealthChoice Illinois managed care program in 2018, requiring providers to contract with participating managed care plans to continue serving Medicaid patients. Providers must contract now to ensure they can continue caring for their current Medicaid patients when the transition occurs.
Action Required
By January 1, 2018: Illinois providers must contract directly with HealthChoice Illinois participating plans (Blue Cross Blue Shield, CountyCare, Harmony Health Plan, IlliniCare Health Plan, Meridian Health, Molina Healthcare, NextLevel Health) to continue serving Medicaid patients. Ensure enrollment in Department's IMPACT system before contracting. Verify patient eligibility on date of service using REV, AVRS, or MEDI systems to confirm plan enrollment. Failure to contract will result in inability to serve Medicaid patients and loss of payment for services.
