Summary
A new 'Service Thru Date' field has been added to MEDI institutional invoice claim submissions to comply with HIPAA X12 standards. Home health providers must NOT use this field and must continue billing each service date on separate lines, as claims with date ranges will not process correctly.
Action Required
Immediately: Home health billing teams must review all submitted claims and void/rebill any claims that incorrectly used the new 'Service Thru Date' field with date ranges. Continue billing each home health service date on separate service lines. Do not populate the 'Service Thru Date' field in MEDI system submissions as these claims will not process correctly.
