Summary
Effective October 1, 2017, Community Mental Health Centers no longer need the DHS Social Services - Special Eligibility Segment on recipient files for Medicaid claim processing. This requirement is still mandatory for services provided before October 1, 2017.
Action Required
Immediately: Billing team should verify that current claim processing systems are not requiring DHS Social Services - Special Eligibility Segment for dates of service after October 1, 2017. Continue to verify participant eligibility via MEDI or AVRS (1-800-842-1461) before submitting claims. Contact HFS Community Mental Health Billing Consultant at 877-782-5565 if manual time overrides are needed for delayed claims due to system transitions.
