Summary
Illinois has postponed the enrollment of Special Needs Children into HealthChoice Illinois managed care from the previously scheduled October 1, 2018 date. Additionally, medically fragile and technology dependent children receiving waiver services or in-home shift nursing are permanently excluded from mandatory managed care enrollment.
Action Required
Continue billing Illinois State Agency on fee-for-service basis for Special Needs Children populations. No changes to current billing workflows required until further notice. Monitor for future enrollment date announcements from the Department of Healthcare and Family Services.
