Summary
Illinois HFS will begin posting weekly lists of Long Term Care admission Transaction Audit Numbers (TANs) and their status codes on their website. New status codes have been added and existing codes clarified to help LTC providers track admission transaction statuses in the MEDI system.
Action Required
Immediately: LTC billing teams should bookmark the HFS Long Term Care Changes page to access weekly TAN status lists. Train staff on new status codes (03, 06, 09, 14, 16) and updated rejection code 99. For rejected transactions, email appropriate DHS MFO office with facility details and TAN numbers. For TANs over 45 days with '00' status, contact HFS Bureau of Long Term Care at HFS.LTC@illinois.gov or fax (217) 557-5061.
