Summary
The Illinois Department of Health and Family Services has replaced the Community Mental Health Service Definition and Reimbursement Guide (SDRG) with a new Community Based Behavioral Services (CBS) Handbook, effective immediately. This handbook contains updated information and guidance for providers delivering Medicaid Rehabilitation Option – Mental Health (MRO-MH) and Targeted Case Management (TCM) services.

Immediately: Mental health providers in Illinois must obtain and review the new Community Based Behavioral Services (CBS) Handbook to replace the previous Community Mental Health Service Definition and Reimbursement Guide. Contact the Bureau of Behavioral Health at 217-557-1000 or HFS.BHCompliance@illinois.gov for questions. Update billing procedures and documentation requirements according to the new handbook guidelines for MRO-MH and TCM services.
