Summary
Illinois has launched a new ABE Partner Portal that allows hospital staff to electronically report births of newborns when the mother is a Medicaid recipient, which will expedite eligibility processing and RIN generation for billing purposes. This replaces the manual fax process using form 2636 to the newborn unit.

Immediately: Hospital billing staff must create accounts at ABE.Illinois.gov and complete Report of Birth training before using the new electronic birth reporting functionality. Designate one Agency Security Administrator per hospital location. Use the ABE Partner Portal instead of faxing form 2636 for faster RIN generation and Medicaid eligibility processing for newborns.
