Summary
Beginning November 1, 2019, Illinois will expand HealthChoice Illinois managed care to include Special Needs Children under 21 who meet specific criteria including SSI eligibility, DSCC services, disability status, or DCFS custody. Providers must establish contracts with managed care plans to continue serving this population and complete IMPACT enrollment if not already enrolled in HFS Medical Programs.
Action Required
Before November 1, 2019: Providers serving Special Needs Children must initiate contract discussions with HealthChoice Illinois managed care plans to maintain ability to serve this population. Providers not enrolled in HFS Medical Programs must complete IMPACT enrollment prior to pursuing managed care contracts. Contact Bureau of Managed Care at 217-524-7478 for questions.
