Summary
Illinois Medicaid has increased reimbursement rates by 2.5% for community-based behavioral health services, retroactive to July 1, 2019. Providers must submit replacement claims for services already paid at the old rates to receive the higher reimbursement amounts.
Action Required
Immediately: Billing team should review all community-based behavioral health claims paid between July 1, 2019 and June 30, 2020. Submit replacement claims for services where usual and customary charges would result in higher reimbursement at the updated 2.5% increased rates. Contact community mental health billing consultant at 877-782-5565 (option sequence 1, 2, 4, then 8) with questions. Note: The Department will not automatically adjust previously paid claims.
