Summary
Illinois Medicaid is delaying implementation of new Attending Provider NPI requirements until January 1, 2020. Institutional providers (hospitals, dialysis facilities, surgery centers, hospice, birth centers) will not have claims rejected for non-enrolled attending providers until the new date.
Action Required
Before January 1, 2020: Institutional providers must ensure all attending providers listed on UB-04 or 837I claims are enrolled as individuals in Illinois Medicaid. Non-enrolled providers must complete enrollment through the IMPACT webpage. Contact Bureau of Hospital and Provider Services at 877-782-5565 with questions. Claims will be rejected after January 1, 2020 if attending providers are not properly enrolled.
