Summary
Illinois Medicaid will no longer allow retroactive enrollment dates for new providers. Provider enrollment will only be effective from the application submission date forward, and no reimbursement will be provided for services rendered before the enrollment effective date.

Immediately: All providers must ensure Medicaid enrollment is completed before providing services to Medicaid participants. Billing team must verify provider enrollment dates in IMPACT system before submitting claims. Do not bill for services provided before enrollment effective date as these claims will be denied without reimbursement.
