Summary
Healthcare providers must now use a new secure web-based portal to submit unresolved MCO complaints, effective February 28, 2020. Providers must first work with MCOs for 30-60 days through their internal dispute process before submitting complaints to the state portal.
Action Required
Immediately: Register billing team members in the new HFS Provider Resolution Portal using the registration link provided. Before submitting any MCO disputes to the portal: 1) First submit disputes to the MCO's internal process and obtain a tracking number, 2) Wait 30-60 days for MCO response, 3) Use the standard Complaints/Claim-Issue template for multiple similar complaints with the same MCO. Contact MCOs to obtain tracking numbers for any previously submitted disputes without them.
