Summary
The Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services is notifying Medicaid and CHIP providers of a time-sensitive opportunity to apply for federal COVID-19 CARES Act Provider Relief Fund payments equivalent to 2% of total net patient revenue. The application deadline is July 20, 2020, and less than 5% of eligible providers have applied.

By July 20, 2020: Eligible Medicaid/CHIP providers must apply through the federal Provider Relief Fund portal for COVID-19 CARES Act payments. Billing team should verify eligibility requirements: not received $50 billion General Distribution payments, billed Medicaid/CHIP between Jan 1, 2018-Dec 31, 2019, filed federal tax returns for 2017-2019, provided patient care after Jan 31, 2020, and reported gross receipts from patient care. Failure to apply by deadline will result in loss of funding opportunity.
