Summary
Illinois Medicaid has extended the deadline for providers to resubmit Mobile Crisis Response (MCR) claims using procedure code S9484 through October 1, 2020. Providers can submit replacement claims for dates of service beginning August 1, 2018, if their original claims did not pay at the accurate rate.
Action Required
By October 1, 2020: Community mental health centers and behavioral health clinics should review unpaid or underpaid S9484 claims from August 1, 2018 forward. Submit replacement claims via MEDI or 837P with Claim Frequency Digit '7' within 12 months of original voucher date, or use Claim Frequency Digit '8' to void and '1' for new claims if replacement option unavailable.
