Summary
Illinois DCFS youth in care are transitioning to the new YouthCare managed care plan on September 1, 2020. Providers can continue serving these patients through February 28, 2021 without contracts, but must bill YouthCare directly using YouthCare ID cards instead of standard Medicaid billing.
Action Required
By September 1, 2020: Billing team must verify YouthCare member ID cards for DCFS youth and bill YouthCare directly instead of standard Medicaid. Update billing system to recognize YouthCare as payer. By February 28, 2021: Complete YouthCare provider contracting to continue serving these patients.
