Summary
Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services is correcting Graduate Medical Education (GME) payment errors from July and August 2020 through September payment adjustments. Underpaid hospitals will receive catch-up payments, while overpaid hospitals will have offsets applied to their September GME and Fee-For-Service assessment payments.

Immediately: Hospitals eligible for GME payments should contact the Department at hfs.Hospitals@illinois.gov to request a walk-through of their September payment adjustments. Finance teams should review September GME and Fee-For-Service assessment payments to verify correct application of July/August payment corrections.
