Summary
Illinois Medicaid has updated the list of approved safety training certification providers for non-emergency medical transportation drivers and attendants. All transportation providers must ensure their staff complete safety training certification every three years through one of four approved training organizations.

Transportation providers only: Ensure all drivers and attendants complete safety training certification every three years through one of the four approved providers listed (CTAA, MedicarSafety.com Inc., Illinois Rural Transit Assistance Center, or Southern Illinois University). Maintain documentation of certification and federal funding periods if applicable. This does not affect medical billing teams unless the practice provides non-emergency medical transportation services.
