Illinois is changing School Based Health Services (SBHS) Medicaid Administrative Claim quarterly reporting deadlines, extending submission time from 15 days to 6 weeks after quarter end, and reducing the grace period for late submissions from 7 quarters to 1 quarter (FY2022) then eliminating it entirely (FY2023).

By January 2022: School-based health services billing teams must update quarterly MAC reporting workflows to submit financial data within 6 weeks after quarter end instead of by the 15th of the following month. Update CPE certification processes to align with new 2-week windows published by Public Consulting Group. Critical: Submit any remaining January-March 2020 claims by January 15, 2022, or lose reimbursement eligibility.
