Summary
Illinois Medicaid erroneously paid GEMT supplemental payments on Medicare-primary claims and will process adjustments to recoup these overpayments. GEMT providers should not submit refund checks for these Medicare-primary overpayments but should continue following separate payment processes for IGT payments and other types of overpayment refunds.
Action Required
Immediately: GEMT providers should not submit refund checks for overpayments related to Medicare-primary claims - the Department will automatically process adjustments. Continue sending GEMT IGT payments to BFO-GEMT at P.O. Box 19491-9491, Springfield, IL 62763, and other overpayment refunds with claim-level detail to Adjustment Unit at P.O.
