Summary
Illinois Medicaid is increasing reimbursement rates for community-based behavioral health services by 2% (5% for ACT services) effective January 1, 2022. Providers must submit replacement claims to receive the higher rates if their charges are below the new maximum fee schedule amounts.

Immediately: Review all Medicaid behavioral health claims from January 1, 2022 forward. If provider charges are less than the new increased fee schedule rates, billing team must submit replacement claims following Chapter 300 Companion Guide for 837P transactions to receive higher reimbursement.
