Summary
Illinois has updated requirements for the HFS Managed Care Provider Resolution Portal used for Medicaid MCO disputes. Providers must now complete MCO internal dispute processes first, obtain MCO tracking numbers, and follow strict 30/60 calendar day timeframes when submitting complaints through the portal.
Action Required
Immediately: Billing team must register with the HFS Managed Care Provider Resolution Portal at illinois.gov if not already registered. For all Medicaid MCO disputes, first exhaust MCO internal dispute processes and obtain MCO tracking numbers before portal submission. Submit portal complaints no sooner than 30 days and no later than 60 days after MCO internal dispute submission. Respond to MCO information requests within 5 business days or tickets will be closed permanently.
