Summary

Starting July 1, 2026, HelpScript will expand enrollment services for manufacturer copay assistance programs to additional Blue Cross and BCN commercial members for high-cost medical benefit drugs. This creates a new billing workflow where providers must submit claims to Blue Cross/BCN first, then to manufacturer programs, with HelpScript paying any remaining member responsibility amounts directly to providers.

Action Required

Before Jul 1, 2026
By July 1, 2026: Billing team must implement new three-step process for high-cost medical benefit drugs covered by manufacturer copay assistance: (1) Submit claims to Blue Cross/BCN for primary payment, (2) Submit remittance advice to manufacturer's copay assistance program for member-owed amounts, (3) Wait for HelpScript to pay remaining member responsibility amounts within 14-21 business days. Update billing procedures to never bill members for member responsibility amounts on these drugs. Train staff to coordinate with HelpScript patient advocates when they contact the office about patient enrollment details.
