Summary
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan prohibits resubmitting any claims that are part of post-pay audits. Once you receive an audit notice letter with patient listing, you must stop adjusting those claims and notify billing/finance departments to hold additional related claims.
Action Required
Immediately upon receiving audit notice letter: 1) Stop adjusting all claims listed in the audit notice, 2) Notify billing and finance departments which specific claims are under audit, 3) Instruct finance team to hold billing of any additional audit-related claims, 4) Do not rebill audited claims for any corrections including CPT codes, ICD-10 diagnoses, quantities, or dates of service. Failure to comply causes unnecessary disruptions for all parties.
