Summary
Illinois nursing facilities can now bill Medicaid for telehealth originating site facility fees using procedure code Q3014 with modifier CR, retroactive to March 9, 2020. Facilities must use their DME oxygen supplier NPI (not their regular facility NPI) and have 180 days from August 26, 2022 to submit these claims.
Action Required
By February 22, 2023: Illinois nursing facilities must update billing systems to use DME oxygen supplier NPI (not facility NPI) when billing Q3014 with modifier CR for telehealth originating site fees. Submit all eligible claims for dates of service from March 9, 2020 onward before the 180-day deadline expires.
