Summary
Illinois has clarified that all Medicare-Medicaid Alignment Initiative (MMAI) bed days, both Medicare and Medicaid primary, will be excluded from the occupied bed tax for nursing facilities. A revised HFS1446 form must be completed for June, May, and April 2022 reporting periods, with credits applied against future payments due in December 2022, March 2023, and June 2023.
