Summary
Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services is updating hospital reimbursement components effective January 1, 2023, including Medicare wage indexes and cost-to-charge ratios for APR-DRG and EAPG payment systems. The grouper versions will remain unchanged (APR-DRG Version 36 for inpatient, EAPG Version 3.13 for outpatient).
Action Required
By January 1, 2023: Hospital billing teams in Illinois must review updated rate sheets and inpatient/outpatient calculators when posted to the Department's Hospital Reimbursement Notifications webpage. Verify that APR-DRG and EAPG grouper versions remain at 36 and 3.13 respectively in billing systems.
