Summary

Illinois Medicaid has released an updated version of the IM+CANS assessment tool required for Integrated Assessment and Treatment Planning (IATP) services. Providers must transition to the new version by April 1, 2024, which includes updated core forms and four addendums.

By April 1, 2024: Providers billing for IATP services must transition to using the updated IM+CANS assessment tool. Download the new version from the HFS IATP webpage including all forms and addendums. Attend the informational webinar on October 23, 2023 to understand changes. Contact HFS.IATP@illinois.gov if implementation challenges arise. Staff do NOT need to re-certify immediately but should use updated tool for all new assessments after transition date.
