Summary
Illinois Medicaid experienced a system update issue causing NIPS (Non-Institutional Provider Service) claims from mid-to-late December to be placed on hold due to missing or erroneous information. Claims will be reprocessed over the next several weeks with error code C93, and providers should not resubmit these claims.
Action Required
Immediately: Monitor 835 Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) for error code C93 with reason codes B7 and M143. Do NOT resubmit any claims that reject with C93 - these will be automatically reprocessed. For claims rejected due to timely filing from this processing delay, resubmit with a timely filing override request.
