Summary
Illinois Medicaid now allows pharmacies to void and rebill COVID-19 vaccine claims to include administration fees for services provided September 11-December 31, 2023. Claims from January 1, 2024 forward must still be billed without administration fees until further notice.
Action Required
Immediately: Billing team should review COVID-19 vaccine claims for Illinois Medicaid fee-for-service patients with dates of service September 11-December 31, 2023. Void and rebill these claims using 'MA' in the Professional Service Code Field to include administration fees. Continue billing claims from January 1, 2024 forward without administration fees until further notice.
