Summary
Illinois Medicaid has increased reimbursement rates for ground ambulance services (both base rates and mileage) effective January 1, 2024, through June 30, 2026. Ambulance providers can now void and rebill claims that were previously paid at the old rates for dates of service beginning January 1, 2024.

Immediately: Billing team should review all ground ambulance claims for dates of service from January 1, 2024, forward that were paid at old rates. Void and rebill these claims to receive the increased reimbursement rates. Check the updated Private Ambulance Fee Schedule for new rate information.
