Summary
Illinois Medicaid now requires home health and personal care service providers to use full 9-digit Social Security Numbers (instead of just last 4 digits) for caregiver identification in the Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) system. All agency providers have until October 17, 2024 to update existing caregiver profiles with complete SSNs.
Action Required
By October 17, 2024: Home health and personal care agencies must update all caregiver profiles in EVV systems to include full 9-digit SSNs instead of last 4 digits only. Agencies using HHAeXchange must update profiles directly in that system. Agencies using third-party EVV systems must update via API and send new records to HHAeXchange.
