Summary
Illinois Medicaid has implemented a 2.5% Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) for 2025, increasing maximum SSI amounts and updating room/board rates for long-term care facilities. Patient credit amounts in the HFS payment system have been automatically updated as of January 17, 2025.
Action Required
Immediately: Long-term care billing teams should download the updated HFS 2449A LTC Transaction Report from the MEDI system to verify new patient credit amounts. Log into MEDI, select IEC, download files, and review updated amounts. If patient credit amounts appear incorrect, submit LTC Income Change transaction with proper verification documents to the appropriate MFO office.
