Summary
Illinois HFS now allows minors to sign their own applications for the Family Planning Program, per Public Act 103-0786. This removes the previous requirement for parental/guardian signatures on family planning service applications for minors.
Action Required
Immediately: Update registration and intake processes to allow minors to sign their own HFS Family Planning Program applications without parental/guardian signatures. Train front desk staff on the new signature requirements. Review provider notices from August 2, 2023 and August 31, 2023 for covered services details.
