Summary
Novo Nordisk is discontinuing Rybelsus tablets and transitioning patients to Ozempic tablets with different strengths. New prescriptions and prior authorization requests are required for all patients switching from Rybelsus to Ozempic tablets.
Action Required
Beginning May 2026: Billing team must process new prescriptions and prior authorization requests for patients transitioning from Rybelsus to Ozempic tablets. Update patient records to reflect medication changes and ensure new PA requests are submitted for Ozempic tablets as patients cannot be automatically converted. Monitor inventory limitations starting July 2026.
