Summary
Beginning January 1, 2026, Illinois Medicaid will allow dispensing of up to 12-month supplies of FDA-approved contraceptives (excluding male condoms) in a single fill. This applies to both fee-for-service and managed care organization plans.
Action Required
Before January 1, 2026: Billing team should verify that billing systems can handle 12-month contraceptive supply claims for Illinois Medicaid patients.
