Summary
Maryland is providing temporary Medicaid coverage and retroactive eligibility for former Temporary Cash Assistance recipients from January 1997 through May 1999. Providers can now submit claims for services rendered during this period to previously ineligible patients who now have retroactive Medicaid coverage.
Action Required
By April 30, 2000: Verify patient eligibility using special dated Eligibility Verification forms or EVS system for services provided January 1997-May 1999. Submit hard-copy claims older than 9 months to Division of Managed Care at 201 W. Preston Street, Room 133, Baltimore, MD 21201 (not the usual P.O. Box). Electronic processing allowed for claims less than 9 months old. Withdraw any collection actions against recipients with approved retroactive eligibility and reimburse patients who previously paid for covered services.
