Summary
Maryland Medicaid nursing home providers can now enroll as therapy providers (Provider Type 28) with enrollment status 37 (Mcare Xover Only) to bill Medicaid for Medicare deductibles and coinsurance on physical, occupational, and speech therapy services for dually eligible recipients. The 9-month billing limitation is waived back to October 1, 1999.
Action Required
By June 30, 2001: Maryland nursing home providers must enroll as Provider Type 28 - Therapy Group Provider with enrollment status 37 = Mcare Xover Only for Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy specialties. Submit claims using HCFA-1500 or UB-92 forms with attached Medicare EOMB. Claims beyond 9-month period must be submitted as a group with identifying memorandum to Charlotte Krueger, Claims Processing Division, Room 88-18.
